Attendance / Absence

The importance of regular school attendance

We want every child to have the best possible attendance at school. It will enable them to reach their full potential.

There is a strong link between good school attendance and achieving good results for children. Children who frequently miss school may fall behind in their work, which may affect their future prospects.

For most pupils, the best place to be is in school, surrounded by the support of their friends and teachers.

This is important for your child’s learning. But it also contributes to their general wellbeing, wider development and mental health.

Leave Of Absence

If you are considering taking your child(ren) out of school during term time please read the attached document – the Headteacher can only authorise absences in exceptional circumstances. You can request a copy of the form from the School Office; complete it and return it to the office as soon as you can before the absence dates – you will be notified of the Headteacher’s decision within two or three days.
