Ironman 70.3 Staffordshire – 18th July 2021

The route for this year’s Ironman 70.3 Staffordshire event has been set.

The gruelling Ironman 70.3 Staffordshire triathlon event will take place on Sunday 18 July 2021 and covers 70.3 miles across Staffordshire, passing through the towns of Stafford and Rugeley.

More than 1,000 athletes will compete on the day, and an event as big as this takes some meticulous planning as you can imagine. This includes several road access and traffic management initiatives, and so everyone potentially impacted are urged to look at the full route and traffic access page on the official Ironman 70.3 Staffordshire website and plan any activities, service delivery or travel or journey that you intend to make on the 18 July accordingly.

There will be unrestricted access for emergency services at all times.

Meticulous planning for a safe and enjoyable event

Delivering an event which is safe and enjoyable for everyone has remained a priority throughout the planning stages. All the planning for the event has been led by the IRONMAN organisation alongside local councils, police, fire and emergency services and all within the latest public health guidelines.

So, while we understand there must be a cautious approach to large events this summer, we remain confident that people will be able to enjoy IRONMAN 70.3 Staffordshire on Sunday 18 July 2021.
